January - December 2008
May 13, 2008--Okay, maybe this entry should start with the words "... later that night ..." After the last entry I went and tried adding the PDF for a free download, and I'm glad to say it was a success! Go to the Writing Samples page by clicking on the link with that name on the left side of this page. It will take you to a page with a link to download the PDF. Go ahead. Try it. It's a free copy of Cantaraville Three with lots of good writing in it (okay, so that was slightly biased!).
May 13, 2008--My free PDF copy of Cantaraville Three with three of my poems arrived today. It looks great, and, as part of my publishing contract, I can distribute copies and post the PDF for download. I hope to be able to do this soon.
May 12, 2008--The contributor's copy of The Binnacle with my short story "Act Like No One's Watching" arrived in the mail. The magazine is very attractive, and the staff even included a bookmark thanking the contributors. My bookmark was placed on the first page of my story.
May 7, 2008--I received the proof copy of the upcoming issue of Cantaraville. Cantaraville Three will go "live" as soon as contributors make any necessary corrections. The issue will contain reprints of my poems "Eulogy For a Backyard Landscape," "The Perception of Light" and "Circle." I will receive a free PDF of the issue. To purchase the PDF visit cantaraville.ning.com.
March 13, 2008--The editor of ShatterColors Literary Review (www.shattercolors.com/home.htm) notified me today that my poems were up on the website.
Feb. 27, 2008--Today I received word that ShatterColors Literary Review (www.shattercolors.com/home.htm) has accepted two of my poems--"Uninvited" and "Immortal"--for reprint. The editor said they should be up in about a month.
Feb. 10, 2008--If you'll scroll down to the bottom of the page you'll notice I added a guestbook. Go on. Sign in. You know you want to.
Feb. 2, 2008--I just noticed today (okay, it was technically just barely today since it was about 1 a.m.!) the January 2008 issue of Trillium Literary Journal was published. This issue contains my poem "Rest Stop Near Huntsville, Alabama: June 23, 1954." The format of this journal is very impressive, with features that let you turn pages, select background design and sounds and allow you to go directly to any page. It's a very attractive publication. Check it out at www.trilliumliteraryjournal.org, and check out my poem.
